The Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars meet Sunday in NFL week 17 action at the TIAA Bank Field.
The Indianapolis Colts need a win here after losing six of their last eight games. The Indianapolis Colts have lost four straight road games. Jacoby Brissett is completing 61.6 percent of his passes for 2,780 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. Brissett has two or more touchdown passes in six of his 14 games this season. Zach Pascal and Jack Doyle have combined for 1,039 receiving yards and nine touchdowns while T.Y. Hilton has 42 receptions. The Indianapolis Colts ground game is averaging 133.2 yards per contest, and Marlon Mack leads the way with 1,014 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Indianapolis is allowing 22.3 points and 346.4 yards per game. Darius Leonard leads the Indianapolis Colts with 115 tackles, Justin Houston has 10 sacks and Pierre Desir has three interceptions.
The Jacksonville Jaguars need a win after losing six of their last seven games. The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost three of their last four home games. Nick Foles is completing 65.8 percent of his passes for 736 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Gardner Minshew and Foles have combined for 21 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. DJ Chark and Chris Conley have combined for 1,711 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns while Dede Westbrook has 59 receptions. The Jacksonville Jaguars ground game is averaging 109.4 yards per contest, and Leonard Fournette leads the way with 1,152 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Jacksonville is allowing 25.1 points and 382.1 yards per game. Jarrod Wilson leads the Jacksonville Jaguars with 73 tackles, Josh Allen has 10 sacks and Tre Henderson has three interceptions.
The Colts are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. AFC South, 19-9-1 ATS in their last 29 games as a road favorite and 2-6-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Jaguars are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 vs. AFC South, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in December and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The over is 17-8 in Colts last 25 games on grass. The under is 9-3 in Jaguars last 12 home games. The Colts are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Jacksonville and 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 meetings. The favorite is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. The home team is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a strong win over the Carolina Panthers, but this is still a banged up team that's shown little signs of life over the last two months and hasn't won back-to-back games since late October. The Jacksonville Jaguars have issues of their own, but they're a better team with Gardner Minshew under center and I see value in backing home dogs in the last week of the season when neither side has much to play for. Give me the points. Laying chalk with the Colts makes little sense to me in this spot.
