The Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos meet Sunday in week 16 NFL action at Empower Field at Mile High.
The Detroit Lions need a win here to snap a seven-game losing streak. The Detroit Lions have lost their last five road games. Matthew Stafford is completing 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,499 yards, 19 touchdowns and five interceptions. Stafford has two or more touchdown passes in eight of his last 16 games. Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. have combined for 1,831 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns while Danny Amendola has 58 receptions. The Detroit Lions ground game is averaging 98.7 yards per contest, and Kerryon Johnson leads the way with 308 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Detroit is allowing 26.6 points and 401.9 yards per game. Tracy Walker leads the Detroit Lions with 89 tackles, Trey Flowers has seven sacks and Darius Slay has two interceptions.
The Denver Broncos look for a win after splitting their last 10 games. The Denver Broncos have won three of their last four home games. Drew Lock is completing 61.1 percent of his passes for 651 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. Lock enters this game with 95 career pass attempts. Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant have combined for 1,567 receiving yards and nine touchdowns while Emmanuel Sanders has 30 receptions. The Denver Broncos ground game is averaging 103 yards per contest, and Phillip Lindsay leads the way with 849 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Denver is allowing 20.3 points and 337.4 yards per game. Todd Davis leads the Denver Broncos with 114 tackles, Derek Wolfe has seven sacks and Justin Simmons has four interceptions.
The Lions are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Broncos are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in December, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The under is 4-1 in Lions last 5 road games. The under is 10-3 in Broncos last 13 home games.
The Detroit Lions have scored 20 or less points in each of their last four games and the defense continues to slip with the lack of support. The Denver Broncos couldn't do anything in the snow last week, but Lock has looked impressive in limited reps and the Broncos have been a tough team at home despite their lack of consistency overall. It's hard not to take the Broncos by a touchdown, as the Lions seem to be getting worse as the season plays out and it's fair to question if players have checked out mentally with their season quickly coming to an end.
