The Line: Miami Dolphins +1 -- Over/Under: 46.5
The Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins meet in NFL action from Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.
The Bengals enter this one at 1-13 overall. Since their lone victory this year—a 22-6 win over the Jets—Cincinnati has fallen to the Browns 27-19 and the Patriots 34-13 in their last two.
In the loss to the Patriots, Cincinnati’s Andy Dalton posted 151 yards, one TD and four INTs, and Joe Mixon led the rush on 136 yards. Tyler Eifert was tops in receiving there on 44 yards from three grabs.
Over on the Dolphins’ side, they’re 3-11 this season. Miami beat the Eagles 37-31 a couple of weeks back, but since then they’ve fallen to the Jets 22-21 and the Giants 36-20.
In the loss to the Giants, Miami QB Ryan Fitzpatrick put up 279 yards and two touchdowns. Patrick Laird rushed for 46 yards there, and DeVante Parker had 72 yards and two scores on four catches.
The Bengals are 12-1 ATS in their last 13 in Week 16 and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games. Cincinnati is 5-2 ATS in their last seven in December and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the AFC.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins are 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the AFC and 5-2 ATS versus a team with a losing record. Miami is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six in Week 16.
Realistically, there’s absolutely no intrigue in this game unless you’re tracking the top picks in the 2020 NFL Draft. Cincinnati’s offense has been abysmal this year, and they’ve cracked the 20-point mark exactly once in their last nine games.
Miami has done better at putting points on the board, but their defense has coughed up over 30 points in four of their last five games. All things considered here I like the Dolphins, but otherwise there’s really no reason to pay much attention here.
