The Line: Tennessee Titans -2 -- Over/Under: 40.5
The Los Angeles Chargers and the Tennessee Titans will match up in NFL action on Sunday.
The Chargers enter this one at 2-4 on the year so far. LA has wins over the Colts and Dolphins, but otherwise has fallen to the Lions, Texans, Broncos and Steelers this season.
In the loss to Pittsburgh, LA quarterback Philip Rivers posted 320 yards with two TDs and two INTs, and Melvin Gordon led an ugly rush with just 18 yards. Hunter Henry was the top receiver there with 100 yards and two scores.
Over on the Titans’ side, they’re 2-4 on the season as well. Tennessee has taken out the Browns and Falcons but dropped to the Colts, Jaguars, Bills and Broncos.
In the loss to the Broncos, Tennessee QBs Ryan Tannehill and Marcus Mariota combined for zero touchdowns and three INTs. Adam Humphries hauled in six catches but only had 47 yards, while Derrick Henry topped the rush on just 28 yards.
The Chargers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight after an ATS loss. LA is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus the AFC And 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Titans are 15-33-3 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 21-50-4 ATS in their last 75 versus the AFC. Tennessee is 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall.
Since the victory over the hapless Dolphins, the Chargers have put up just 30 points over their last two games, including just 13 against the not-so-good Broncos. Defensively they’ve been solid however, not allowing more than 27 points in any game this year.
On a related note, Tennessee did nothing against the Broncos last weekend, and it resulted in a QB shakeup that will leave the team rudderless moving forward. There’s not much to like at all about this matchup, but with the Tennessee turmoil and a decent defensive unit I have to go Chargers here.
