The Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants will match up on the NFL circuit Sunday.
Minnesota comes into this one at 2-2 so far. The Vikings have gotten wins over the Falcons 28-12 and the Raiders 34-14 but fallen to the Packers 21-16 and the Bears 16-6.
In the Bears loss, Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins put up 233 yards and Dalvin Cook had 35 yards and a score rushing. Stefan Diggs added 108 yards off seven catches as well.
Over on the Giants’ side, they’re 2-2 as well after opening with two losses against the Cowboys and Bills, then taking a 32-31 win over the Buccaneers and a 24-3 win over the Redskins.
In the Redskins win, Giants QB Daniel Jones posted 225 yards with a TD and a pick, while Wayne Gallman logged 63 yards and a TD rushing. Sterling Shepard had 76 yards on seven grabs to lead the receivers.
The Vikings are 6-1 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven in October. Minnesota is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 in Week 5 and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Giants are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine versus the NFC and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 in Week 5. New York is 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 on turf and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 after a straight-up win.
On paper, the Minnesota offense should be rolling right along, but they haven’t really held up their end of the bargain in comparison to the defense. Coming out of the gate 0-2 in the division is a real killer as well, so needless to say the Vikes really need to get going.
As for the Giants, they’ve got a shot of adrenaline after that epic Week 3 game and are all the buzz in New York. This one should be competitive but at anything more than three points or so I’m going Giants.
