The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks meet Thursday in NFL action at CenturyLink Field.
The Los Angeles Rams look for their third road victory to improve to 4-1 on the season. The Los Angeles Rams have won eight of their last 10 road games. Jared Goff is completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 1,254 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions. Goff has one or less touchdown passes in six of his last nine games. Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods have combined for 695 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Brandin Cooks has 19 receptions. The Los Angeles Rams ground game is averaging 99.8 yards per contest, and Todd Gurley II leads the way with 219 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Los Angeles is allowing 26 points and 330.3 yards per game. John Johnson III leads the Los Angeles Rams with 37 tackles, Clay Matthews has five sacks and Marcus Peters has one interception.
The Seattle Seahawks also look for an early statement victory to improve to 4-1 on the season. The Seattle Seahawks have won six of their last seven home games. Russell Wilson is completing 72.9 percent of his passes for 1,141 yards, eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. Wilson has two or more touchdown passes in 14 of his last 16 games. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf have combined for 551 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Will Dissly has 19 receptions. The Seattle Seahawks ground game is averaging 111.5 yards per contest, and Chris Carson leads the way with 262 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Seattle is allowing 22.3 points and 319 yards per game. Bobby Wagner leads the Seattle Seahawks with 45 tackles, Quinton Jefferson has two sacks and Bradley McDougald has one interception.
The Rams are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. NFC West and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Seahawks are 7-0-2 ATS in their last 9 Thursday games, 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Rams are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 meetings in Seattle and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings. The over is 10-3 in Seahawks last 13 games overall. The under is 5-1 in Rams last 6 road games.
The Los Angeles Rams have failed to cover five of their last eight games as a road underdog. The Seattle Seahawks are 2-4-1 ATS in their last seven games as a home favorite. The Rams looked awful last week and now have to go on the road in arguably the most hostile stadium in the league on short rest. The Seattle Seahawks have been a consistent team for the most part through four weeks and seemed to play their most balanced game of the year last week, even if it came against the Arizona Cardinals. The underdogs have thrived on these Thursday games, but I'm leaning toward the Seahawks and the short number at home. I just don't trust the Rams in this schedule spot, especially after what we saw from them against a lousy Tampa Bay squad.
