The Washington Wizards invade the Rocket Arena to do battle with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Washington Wizards Betting Preview
The Washington Wizards have split their first four games of the season and they will be eager to bounce back here after getting stopped by the Hornets in a 110-103 road defeat on Monday. Anthony Davis led the team with 29 points and 10 rebounds on 11 of 22 shooting, Trae Young added 22 points with 10 assists while Kyshawn George chipped in with 20 points on eight of 14 shooting. As a team, the Wizards shot 48 percent from the field which was better than the Hornets’ 43 percent, but the Wizards made just nine of 28 from the 3-point line and they were always playing from behind after allowing the Hornets to explode for 35 points in the second quarter thanks to a scoring barrage from Brandon Miller. Bub Carrington had a rough game of just six points on two of seven shooting while Bilal Coulibaly scored just three points on one of five shooting.
Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to heat up as they are now on a two-game win streak after sneaking past the Timberwolves in a thrilling 127-125 overtime win on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 26 points, five rebounds and seven assists, James Harden added 19 points with nine assists, Evan Mobley tallied 18 points with 10 rebounds and two blocks while Maleek Thomas chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 45 percent from the field and 18 of 45 from the 3-point line as they clawed their way back from an early 15-point deficit thanks to Harden and he came up clutch at the end of the fourth quarter, tying the game with just 10.4 seconds left on the clock.
Washington v Cleveland Free Prediction
The Wizards are still missing Tristan Vukcevic, Jamir Watkins and Justin Champagnie with AJ Dybantsa upgraded to questionable for this one, while the Cavaliers are entering this contest with a healthy roster. The Wizards have already shown some glimpses of their potential in their two wins this season, but they didn’t look great in their loss to the Hornets and they were always going to be heavy underdogs in this matchup. The Cavaliers have yet to hit their stride, but they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their hard-fought overtime win over the red-hot Timberwolves and that could spark something for them. The line is a bit hefty, but the Cavaliers are getting on a roll now and I think they keep it going with a comfortable win and cover here.
