Washington Wizards Betting Preview
The Washington Wizards have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting thrashed by the Hawks in a 119-98 road defeat on Tuesday. Will Riley led the team with 18 points on seven of eight shooting off the bench, Justin Champagnie and Jamir Watkins each scored 14 points while Kyshawn George chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Wizards shot 44 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to contain the Hawks from the start and immediately fell behind by double digits and things only got worse in the third quarter where they leaked 40 points to trail by as many as 38 points. Tre Johnson scored just eight points on three of 12 shooting while Bub Carrington finished with just three points on one of six shooting.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks are starting to turn things around as they’ve won three of their last four games overall and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after blowing past the lowly WIzards in a big win on Tuesday. Jonathan Kuminga led the team with 27 points on nine of 12 shooting off the bench, Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 16 points with five assists while Corey Kispert chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Hawks shot just 39 percent from the field and 12 of 50 from the 3-point line as they swarmed the Wizards with 35 points in the first quarter to take control of the contest early, before they dominated the third quarter by 40-21 to put the game to allow them to pull all of their starters early. The only minor blemish from the win was CJ McCollum who shot just two of 12 from the field for his eight points.

The Wizards have ruled out Anthony Davis, Alex Sarr, Cam Whitmore and Trae Young with Kyshawn George listed as questionable, while the Hawks are keeping an eye on Jalen Johnson, Zaccharie Risacher and Nickeil Alexander-Walker who are all questionable. It’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row, but the last two meetings have resulted in blowout wins for the Hawks and I think they can earn a third here against the Wizards who are just missing so much firepower at the moment. The line is hefty, but the Hawks really should have little trouble winning this one by double digits at home.
