The Toronto Raptors travel to the Toyota Center to take on the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. Here’s a Toronto Raptors vs. Houston Rockets prediction. This article will include a Toronto Raptors vs. Houston Rockets pick.

Toronto Raptors Betting Preview

The Toronto Raptors have been in decent form, as they’ve split their last eight games, but they will be eager to build some momentum after making light work of the Mavericks in a 122-92 home win on Sunday. RJ Barrett led the team with 31 points on 13 of 19 shooting, Scottie Barnes added 17 points with five assists, and Jakob Poeltl chipped in with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

As a team, the Raptors shot 51 percent from the field and 10 of 36 from the 3-point line but this win was more about their defense, as they were always in control after restricting the Mavericks to just 15 points in the second quarter to take a 13-point lead into halftime. The Raptors did a great job of keeping the Mavericks’ Klay Thompson to just five points on two of 10 shooting and Max Christie, who scored just two points on one of 11 shooting.

Houston Rockets Betting Preview

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been on a decent run lately, as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping for a better effort after getting humbled by the Spurs in a 145-120 road defeat on Sunday. Kevin Durant led the team with 23 points, five rebounds, and four assists; Amen Thompson added 23 points with seven rebounds and six assists, while Jabari Smith Jr. and Reed Sheppard each scored 17 points.

As a team, the Rockets shot 48 percent from the field and eight of 28 from the 3-point line, which are decent shooting numbers, but they just had no answer for the Spurs, who shot over 58 percent from the field while connecting on 21 3-pointers. The Rockets already looked in trouble when they trailed by 12 points going into halftime and things only got worse in the second half, where the Rockets allowed 76 points.

Toronto Raptors vs Houston Rockets Prediction

The Raptors are still missing Trayce Jackson-Davis and Collin Murray-Boyles, with Jakob Poeltl listed as questionable, while the Rockets have ruled out Steven Adams, Jae’Sean Tate and Fred VanVleet. These teams last met on Oct 29 and it was the Rockets who rolled to a 139-121 road win.

The Rockets were starting to heat up before they ran into the surging Spurs in their last outing, but I think they can bounce back against the Raptors, who have been treading water lately. I might have been tempted to take the Raptors if the line was a little higher, but given that it’s so short, I will stick with the Rockets to get the job done at home.

Peter Tran's Pick: Houston -4.5
