The Orlando Magic play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Kia Center on Friday night.
Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Preview
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be feeling pretty good about themselves after making light work of the Heat in a 131-106 road win on Wednesday night. Anthony Edwards caught fire in this one as he drained nine 3-pointers to finish with 45 points on 16 of 29 shooting, LaMelo Ball added 21 points with six assists while Jaden McDaniels chipped in with 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals on eight of 11 shooting. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 47 percent from the field and 21 of 50 from the 3-point line as they rode the hot hand of Edwards to take a 10-point lead into halftime, before they put their foot down and pushed the margin out to 30 points at one stage.
Orlando Magic Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic will be hoping to bounce back in this one after coming up just short to the Hawks in a 132-125 home defeat on Wednesday. Paolo Banchero led the team with 35 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists on 10 of 12 shooting, Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr each scored 22 points while Desmond Bane chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Magic shot 48 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they worked so hard to erase an early 14-point deficit but they couldn’t get back in front after giving up the lead midway through the fourth quarter. Jalen Suggs had a rough game as he finished with just six points on two of eight shooting in 32 minutes of action.
Minnesota v Orlando Free Prediction
The Timberwolves are still playing without the injured Donte DiVincenzo, while the Magic have ruled out Anthony Black, Jonathan Isaac and Noah Penda once again. The Timberwolves put up a great performance to smash the Heat in their opening game and Edwards looks to already be in mid-season form. There were certainly some positives in the Magic’s narrow loss to the Hawks, but at this early stage of the season, I prefer how the Timberwolves looked and I think they will get the win and cover here.
