The San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder collide in a dramatic Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals at the Paycom Center on Saturday night.

San Antonio Spurs Betting Preview

The San Antonio Spurs had their backs against the wall heading into Game 6 on Thursday, but they dominated from start to finish to force a series decider after winning Game 6 by 118-91. Victor Wembenyama led the team with 28 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks on 10 of 21 shooting, Dylan Harper added 18 points with six rebounds and four assists off the bench while Stephon Castle chipped in with 17 points and nine assists. As a team, the Spurs shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 41 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 35 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early double digit lead, but the game was still up for grabs until the third quarter where they Spurs went on a ferocious 19-0 run to lead by as many as 28 points at one stage. The only blemish from the otherwise dominant victory was De’Aaron Fox who tallied seven turnovers but shot just one of nine from the field for his five points.

Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Preview

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be kicking themselves after missing out on a crucial chance to finish off the Spurs in Game 6 as they just didn’t match the desperation of the Spurs at all. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 15 points, Jared McCain scored 13 points with six assists while Cason Wallce chipped in with 11 points but no other player scored more than 10 points. As a team, the Thunder shot just 37 percent from the field and 10 of 40 from the 3-point line as they failed to get their usual foul calls and fell behind right away and things only got worse in the third quarter where they got outscored by 32-13 to get completely blown out in the end. The Thunder really struggled on offense from the start as Gilgeous-Alexander scored just three free throws without making a 3-pointer while Luguentz Dort finished with just five points on two of 11 shooting.

The Spurs don’t have any injuries to worry about, while the Thunder are still playing without Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell once again. The officiating we saw in Game 6 played a major role in the outcome of the game as the Thunder got to the free throw line just 12 times which hurt their scoring but also their ability to set up their defense on the other side of the court. With the series shifting back to the Paycom Center, we can expect the home crowd to have an impact on the officiating, but the Spurs looked great in Game 6 and they are certainly tempting as the underdogs in this one. The Thunder have hardly been tested during these playoffs as they started off with two straight series sweeps and I think that just might cost them in an elimination game. You can make an argument for either side, but I think the Spurs can pull off the upset in this one as long as the officiating remains the same.

Peter Tran's Pick: San Antonio +3.5
