The Detroit Pistons and the Miami Heat duke it out at the Kaseya Center on Friday night.
Detroit Pistons Betting Preview
The Detroit Pistons will be aiming for a second straight win to kick off their season after outlasting the Celtics in an impressive 121-113 home win on Tuesday night. Cade Cunningham led the team with 22 points and eight assists, Jalen Duren added 22 points with nine rebounds, Duncan Robinson added 21 points while Javonte Green chipped in with 19 points off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 45 percent from the field and 15 of 40 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and looked to be in trouble when they fell behind by 22 points, but that seemed to wake them up as they dominated the second half by 76-55 to run past the Celtics and claim a statement win at home.
Miami Heat Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat will be hoping for a better showing after getting dismantled by the Timberwolves in a 131-106 home defeat on Wednesday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 35 points on 13 of 19 shooting, Bam Adebayo added 15 points with seven rebounds and four assists while Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell each scored 11 points. As a team, the Heat shot 48 percent from the field and eight of 33 from the 3-point line, but the real issues were on defense as they leaked 69 points in the first half and just had no answer for the Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards who torched them for 45 points, including nine 3-pointers.
Detroit v Miami Free Prediction
The Pistons must be feeling pretty good about themselves after passing an early test with a comeback win over the Celtics on Tuesday, while the Heat will be hoping for a better showing overall after getting smashed in their first game with Antetokounmpo leading the way. It wouldn’t be surprising at all if the Heat shook off the disappointment of their first defeat and grabbed a win here, but with the line so short, I prefer a play on the Pistons who just look more like a settled unit compared to the Heat who are trying to learn how to support Antetokounmpo. Give me the Pistons to escape a close battle with the narrow win and cover.
