The Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers collide at the Rocket Arena on Wednesday night. Here’s a Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction. This article will include a Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Pick.

Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the form teams in the league as they had won five of their first six games. They will be looking to bounce back in this one after coming up painfully short to the Bulls in a 113-111 loss last night. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 39 points, five rebounds and five assists, Joel Embiid added 20 points with six rebounds and four blocks while Kelly Oubre Jr chipped in with 18 points.

As a team, the 76ers shot 42 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 45 points in the first quarter to take an early 24-point lead. But they couldn’t maintain that pace and managed just 36 points in the second half to allow the Bulls to run them down in a disappointing finish.

Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in pretty good form as they’ve won four of their last six games and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their 117-109 win over the Hawks on Sunday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 37 points and five assists, De’Andre Hunter added 19 points with seven rebounds and three steals, Jaylon Tyson added 18 points while Evan Mobley tallied 14 points with eight rebounds and five assists.

As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 41 percent from the field and 20 of 57 from the 3-point line as they went cold and scored just 19 points in the second quarter to trail going into halftime. Before they caught fire with 39 points in the fourth quarter to earn the gritty win at home. Larry Nance Jr had a rough night as he shot just one of nine from the field for his two points.

Why the Cleveland Cavaliers will win

  • The Cavaliers have won each of their last nine home games against opponents who are on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • The 76ers have lost each of their last eight road games against Eastern Conference opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Cavaliers have covered the spread in eight of their last nine night games against Atlantic Division opponents that held a winning record.
  • The 76ers have failed to cover the spread in seven of their last eight games as road underdogs.

Why the Philadelphia 76ers will win

  • The Cavaliers have lost four of their last six games as home favorites.
  • The 76ers have won each of their last four night games against the Cavaliers following a road loss.
  • The 76ers have covered the spread in each of their last eight night games against the Cavaliers following a road loss.
  • The Cavaliers have failed to cover the spread in 11 of their last 12 games at Rocket Arena following a win.

Total Points Facts

  • Eight of the last nine night games between the 76ers and Cavaliers have gone OVER the total points line.
  • Each of the 76ers’ last four games at Rocket Arena have gone OVER the total points line.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction

The 76ers are still playing without Paul George while the Cavaliers are keeping eyes on Sam Merrill, Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland who are all questionable for this one. The 76ers were always going to slow down after a hot start to the season, but they will still be hurting after squandering a 24-point lead in their last outing. The Cavaliers are coming into this one fresh off a solid win for their fourth in their last six games, and they could have some players returning to help bolster their depth.

I do like the Cavaliers to get the win at home but this line just seems too hefty despite the 76ers playing this one on zero days rest. Give me the 76ers with the points in what could be a close one.

Peter Tran's Pick: Philadelphia +10.5
