As a team, the Hornets shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 41 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, but this win was more about their defense as they were always in control after holding the Knicks to just 19 points in the second quarter and just 21 points in the third. The Hornets led by as many as 21 points in this one which was more than enough to hold off the Knicks who were having an off night.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Bulls in a 157-137 win on Wednesday. Joel Embiid led the team with 35 points, six rebounds and seven assists on 12 of 17 shooting, Paul George added 25 points with six rebounds and four assists while VJ Edgecombe chipped in with 22 points, six rebounds and six assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 55 percent from the field and 22 of 47 from the 3-point line as they swarmed the Bulls from the start and took a 19-point lead into halftime, before they exploded for 51 points in the third quarter to push the margin out to 47 points at one stage.

The Hornets are still keeping an eye on Tidjane Salaun and Liam McNeeley, while the 76ers have ruled out Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr once again. These teams last met on Jan 26 and it was the Hornets who smashed the 76ers by 130-93. The Hornets have clearly been the hotter, more consistent team since that meeting, but the 76ers are only just getting their star players back on the court. It wouldn’t be a shock if the 76ers pulled off the upset in this spot, but the Hornets have been the more reliable team lately and I feel more comfortable laying the points at home.
