The Orlando Magic kick off their season against the visiting Miami Heat at the Kia Center on Wednesday night. Here’s a Miami Heat vs Orlando Magic Prediction. This article will include a Miami Heat vs Orlando Magic Pick.
Miami Heat Betting Preview
The Miami Heat will have mixed emotions about last season, as they managed just 37 wins in the regular season. They rallied at the tail end of the season to earn their way to the 10th seed in the Playoffs thanks to a pair of victories in the Play-In Tournament. Tyler Herro played 77 games and led the way with averages of 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game, Bam Adebayo averaged 18.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, Duncan Robinson averaged 11.0 points per game while Terry Rozier averaged 10.6 points per game.
Jimmy Butler III was a key player at the start of the season, but was traded away midseason along with Kyle Anderson, Haywood Highsmith, Kevin Love and Duncan Robinson. The Heat didn’t make too many moves in the offseason, but they did make a key upgrade with their 3-point shooting with the acquisition of Norman Powell from the Clippers in a three-team trade. As a team, the Heat scored 110.6 points per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from the 3-point line. Kel’el Ware was a bright spot for the Heat, particularly in the second half of last season and there is plenty of optimism around him and the Kasparas Jakucionis who they drafted with the 20th pick.
Orlando Magic Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have seen steady growth over the past four seasons. They will be hoping to continue that trend after earning the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference with an overall record of 41-41 last season before they got dropped in the first round of the playoffs. Paolo Banchero was having a breakout season with averages of 25.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists but played just 46 games. Franz Wagner picked up the slack in his absence and finished with averages of 24.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. Jalen Suggs averaged 16.2 points per game, while Anthony Black played 78 games to finish with averages of 9.4 points and 3.1 assists per game.
As a team, the Magic scored 105.4 points per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and a miserly 31.8 percent from the 3-point line. They attempted to correct that weakness with the addition of Desmond Bane, who will get plenty of looks for his new squad. The Magic shipped away Cole Anthony, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Gary Harris and signed Cory Joseph from free agency to round out their young lineup.

Miami Heat vs Orlando Magic Prediction
The Heat are missing some key players for their season opener, as Tyler Herro is already ruled out and Kel’el Ware is questionable with injuries to his neck and ankle. The Magic have ruled out Moritz Wagner and are keeping an eye on Jalen Suggs. The Magic have expectedly opened as heavy favorites at home in this matchup, and it’s justified, as I think the Heat will struggle for points without Herro on the court.
The line is a bit hefty for the first game of the season, but the Heat will be going through some growing pains with the changes they’ve had to deal with. So, I am leaning towards the Magic to take advantage and come away with a comfortable win at home.
