The Line: Betting Odds: Indiana Pacers -160 / Miami Heat +135 — Over/Under: 238.5
The matchup between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers on November 15, 2024, promises to be an exciting game with playoff implications in the Eastern Conference. Both teams are coming off some mixed results but with strong individual performances.
The Miami Heat have had a mixed start to the 2024-25 NBA season, with a 4-6 record as of mid-November. They have struggled with consistency, particularly at home. Despite their slow start, the Heat remain a dangerous team, led by veteran star Jimmy Butler, alongside All-Star Bam Adebayo and a promising young talent in Tyler Herro. It looks like Jimmy Butler will be sidelined for this one again which will hurt this heat team.
The Indiana Pacers have a record of 5-6, they sit in the middle of the Eastern Conference standings. Key players like Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, and newly acquired Pascal Siakam have been pivotal to their performance. Haliburton continues to be the offensive engine, orchestrating the offense with his elite playmaking and scoring ability. Myles Turner remains a force on the defensive end, providing shot-blocking and rebounding.
Tyler Herro Over 24.5 Points
Tyler Herro has been a key scorer for the Miami Heat during the 2024-25 season, averaging 24.9 points per game, which ranks him among the top scorers in the league. In addition to his scoring, Herro is also contributing 5.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. He is shooting 44.3% from the field and has been a prolific three-point shooter, hitting 4.6 threes per game at a 37.5% rate.
Tyler Herro is coming off one of the best games of his career putting up 40 points against the Pistons. As the season goes on I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Herro become this Heat team’s primary scorer. With Jimmy Butler being out someone will need to pick up the slack and I think Tyler Herro will be that guy.
Tyrese Haliburton Over 9.5 Assists
Tyrese Haliburton has been putting up impressive assist numbers for the 2024-25 NBA season. He is averaging 8.5 assists per game, which reflects his role as a primary playmaker for the Indiana Pacers. He has also contributed 4.0 rebounds and scored 16.0 points per game while shooting 39.1% from three-point range. His playmaking is one of the highlights of his game, with his assist numbers showcasing his ability to facilitate Indiana’s offense effectively.
Tyrese Haliburton is coming off some massive game dishing the rock. We saw him have a 14-assist game against the Knicks on the 10th and a 12-assist game against Orlando on the 13th. When looking at the other players on this Pacers roster Siakam is behind Haliburton in assists averaging only 4.3 per game. The Pacers rely on Haliburton to create opportunities for his guys and I like to get another double-digit assist game under his belt on Friday.
Bam Adebayo Over 9.5 Rebounds
Bam Adebayo is averaging 9.1 rebounds per game. His rebounding totals remain strong, as he consistently pulls down both defensive and offensive boards. He is also contributing 15.3 points and 3.9 assists per game, showing his versatility as a center. Adebayo’s work on the glass continues to be a key part of the Miami Heat’s success.
We saw Adebayo have some slow rebounding games to start the season but has picked things up as of late. He should have a good rebounding night on Friday against the Pacers team. The Pacers are allowing 54.3 rebounds per game to opposing teams which is the 5th highest in the league. Expect Bam to have a good game and clean up on the glass.
