The Orlando Magic dropped their first two games of the season before they finally secured a victory with a 111-102 road win over the Knicks on Sunday. Franz Wagner led the team with 23 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, Desmond Bane added 22 points, Tristan da Silva scored 19 points while Anthony Black chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Magic shot 43 percent from the field and 18 of 42 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and managed just 21 points in the first quarter to trail for most of the contest, before they finally caught fire with a ferocious 22-5 run in the fourth quarter to run past the Knicks and claim their first win.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors were riding a two-game win streak, before they got stopped in their tracks by the red-hot Timberwolves in a 117-94 road defeat on Sunday. Ja’Kobe Walter led the team with 22 points on seven of 12 shooting, RJ Barrett added 20 points while Immanuel Quickley chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 38 percent from the field and 10 of 38 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and got outscored by 32-21 in the first quarter to find themselves in trouble early and things only got worse in the third quarter where they scored just 15 points to trail by as many as 32 points at one stage.

The Magic are still missing a bunch of players including Paolo Banchero, Noah Penda, Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Isaac, while the Raptors are going to be missing Kawhi Leonard for a few weeks due to swelling in his left knee. The Magic were struggling before they finally got past the Knicks on Sunday, while the Raptors are looking to rebound from their first defeat of the season. The Raptors are still solid favorites at home in this matchup without Kawhi Leonard in action as they are still the healthier team compared to the Magic. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Magic pulled off the upset on the road, but I definitely prefer what I’ve seen from the Raptors and I think they bounce back at home in this spot.
