Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview
The Los Angeles Lakers have been in pretty good shape lately as they’ve won four of their last six games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their two-game win streak snapped by the Cavaliers in a 129-99 road defeat on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 29 points and six assists on 12 of 20 shooting but he had almost no help as LeBron James scored just 11 points on three of 10 shooting while Marcus Smart finished with just two points. As a team, the Lakers shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Cavaliers in a tightly contested first half, before they got completely blown off the court by 72-44 in the second half to suffer one of their worst defeats of the season.
Washington Wizards Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards look to have moved on from their ugly nine-game losing streak as they are now aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Bucks in a 109-99 home win last night. Kyshawn George led the team with 23 points and five assists on 10 of 24 shooting, Alex Sarr added 16 points with 17 rebounds and two blocks while Khris Middleton and Bub Carrington each scored 13 points. As a team, the Wizards shot just 40 percent from the field and eight of 35 from the 3-point line, but this win was all about their defense as they held the Bucks to just 20 points in the second quarter to take an early 18-point lead which was more than enough to hold off a late rally from the Bucks who made it interesting in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
Los Angeles v Washington Free Prediction
The Lakers could be shorthanded for this one as they are keeping an eye on Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves who are both questionable, while the Wizards have ruled out Marvin Bagley III, Cam Whitmore, Trae Young and Tre Johnson. The Lakers were on a roll before they got humbled by the Cavaliers in a blowout loss on Wednesday, while the Wizards have sprung to life with two wins in a row after struggling mightily during a nine-game losing streak. The Lakers were always going to be heavy favorites in this matchup, but they could be missing Doncic which could be crucial against a Wizards squad who have looked like a different team in their past two victories. It’s hard to go past the Lakers to get the win, but I think the line is a bit too high, so I will back the Wizards to hang around and keep the margin closer than it should be.
