The Los Angeles Lakers will be coached by Dane Johnson, who currently coaches the Lakers G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. This Lakers roster has two summer league returners in Colin Castleton and Maxwell Lewis, two guys who combined for 50 NBA games last season and produced 35 points. The Lakers will also play rookies Dalton Knecht, and Bronny James, and we know Bronny will get the majority of the attention for obvious reasons. Tommy Kuhse is the oldest player on this Lakers roster at 26 years old, and OVC Belmont star Grayson Murphy is also listed. The Lakers are going to be one of the most watched teams in the summer league to see if Knecht is NBA ready, and of course Bronny.

Sacramento Kings Betting Preview

The Sacramento Kings will be coached by Jawad Williams, who played 90 games for the Cavaliers and has been involved in the B. League in Japan as a coach. This version of the Kings will be highlighted by Jordan Ford, who played 6 games for the Kings last season, producing 12 points and 2 rebounds in 22 total minutes. The Kings also have Antoine Davis, who went undrafted in 2023, but is second all time in division 1 scoring and first in three pointers made. Davis averaged 25.4 points on 37.5 percent shooting from deep in five years at Detroit Mercy. I’m also interested in seeing Xavier Sneed and Fardaws Aimaq, two guys who can defend and score at an above average level.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to get a lot of love because they’re a public team, and oddsmakers take advantage of that. What we do know is the Sacramento Kings thrive in summer league, preseason, and other games / tournaments that don’t really mean much. And while Bronny and others are getting all of the media attention, you can argue Ford is the most NBA ready player in this game at this very moment. In meaningless summer league or preseason games, there has to be a clear edge for me to lay decent sized chalk, and I just don’t see it in this matchup. Give me the Kings and the free buckets.
