Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview
The Los Angeles Lakers have hit the ground running this season as they are already aiming for a third straight victory after outlasting the Clippers in a 125-117 home win on Friday. Austin Reaves led the team with 28 points and nine assists on 10 of 13 shooting, Luka Doncic tallied 23 points with six rebounds and seven assists while Walker Kessler chipped in with 22 points, eight rebounds, three steals and six blocks on 10 of 14 shooting. As a team, the LAkers shot a healthy 58 percent from the field and 14 of 32 from the 3-point line as they poured in 37 points in the second quarter to overcome a slow start, before they went on a decisive 14-1 run in the third quarter to pull away and secure the easy win.
Utah Jazz Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz were able to bounce back from their blowout defeat on opening night with a gritty 120-119 home win over the Pelicans on Friday. Jaren Jackson Jr led the team with 24 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, Keyonte George added 19 points with 10 assists while Jaxson Hayes chipped in with 17 points on seven of eight shooting off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 49 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they squandered a decent start and looked to be in trouble after wasting a 15-point lead. However, the Jazz kept the game close and escaped with the win behind their defense as they held the Pelicans scoreless in the final minute to secure their first home win of the season.
Los Angeles v Utah Free Prediction
The Lakers have ruled out Adou Theiro again but they are keeping an eye on Jake LaRavia and Cameron Carr, while the Jazz are still missing Jusuf Murkic with Trey Alexander listed as day to day. The Lakers probably should have blown out the Clippers in their last outing, but overall they must be delighted with how they’ve played so far and it’s no surprise to see them open as heavy favorites against the Jazz who will be looking for another win following their dramatic victory over the Pelicans. The Lakers expectedly open as favorites again but they could be in for a close contest if the Jazz play like their win on Friday. I might have been tempted to take the Jazz with the points if the line were higher, but with the line so short, I have to stick with the more dependable Lakers to get the job done here. I love what I am seeing from the Lakers so far, especially Kessler who has been a seamless fit in the offense already.
