The New York Knicks travel to the TD Garden to do battle with the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
New York Knicks Betting Preview
The New York Knicks were hoping to celebrate banner night with a win in front of their home fans, but perhaps the ring ceremony was a distraction as the Knicks ended up losing by 106-100 to the 76ers on Tuesday. Jalen Brunson led the team with 21 points on six of 19 shooting, Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points with 12 rebounds and two blocks while Josh Hart chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Knicks shot just 37 percent from the field and 11 of 33 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the 76ers all the way until the third quarter where they went ice-cold and scored just 18 points to fall behind by 10 points. The Knicks rallied late to cut the deficit to just one point, but they couldn’t get over the hump and eventually found themselves short.
Boston Celtics Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics will be hoping to bounce back after getting beaten by the Pistons in a 121-113 road defeat on Tuesday night. Paul George drained seven 3-pointers to lead the way with 38 points on 12 of 21 shooting in his debut, while Derrick White and Payton Pritchard each scored 17 points, but Jayson Tatum really struggled as he scored just 13 points on six of 23 shooting. As a team, the Celtics shot 45 percent from the field and 17 of 42 from the 3-point line as they dominated early on and held the Pistons to just 18 points in the second quarter to build themselves a handy 22-point lead. However, the Celtics were flat coming out of halftime and it cost them in the end as they leaked 76 points in the second half to allow the Pistons to run them down with time to spare.

The Knicks expect to have a full squad once again, while the Celitcs are still playing without Devin Carter. The Knicks failed to get the job done on opening night, but to be fair, it was a real stiff test to take on the revamped 76ers who just took down the Cavaliers for their second straight win. The Celtics will be kicking themselves after blowing a 22-point lead in their last outing, especially Tatum who couldn’t get going all night, but there’s no time to dwell on mistakes with the defending champs riding into town. The line seems just about right as we are surely set for a close contest here, but with this game being at the TD Garden, I have to lean towards the Celtics to get the job done behind a big bounce back performance from Tatum.
