Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Nets at Magic at 7 PM ET
Following a disappointing 120-116 defeat to the Hawks on Wednesday, the Brooklyn Nets are eager to enhance their performance. Cam Thomas emerged as the leading scorer, netting 36 points with seven successful 3-pointers on 14 of 27 shooting. Jalen Wilson provided a valuable contribution off the bench with 16 points, while Cam Johnson added 14 points to the tally. In contrast, Dennis Schroder had a lackluster game, scoring only 13 points and committing five turnovers, and Ben Simmons recorded a mere six points along with six turnovers.
The Orlando Magic are aiming for a consecutive victory following their impressive 116-97 triumph over the Heat on the road this past Wednesday. Paolo Banchero was the standout performer, contributing 33 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists. Additionally, Franz Wagner scored 23 points on an efficient 10 of 16 shooting in only 23 minutes, while Jalen Suggs added 11 points to the team’s efforts.
The Pick:
In their season opener, the Nets exhibited a significant determination to compete with the Hawks, yet they received little support from their point guards, a factor that could hinder them if the Magic replicate their recent performance. While the betting line seems quite large, I anticipate that the Magic will begin the season on a positive note, and I am assured of their prospects for achieving a commanding win at home.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
76ers at Raptors at 7 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are determined to rebound in this contest after suffering a 124-109 defeat at home against the Bucks on Wednesday. Tyrese Maxey led the scoring for the team with 25 points on 10 of 31 shooting. Kelly Oubre Jr provided 21 points, and Kyle Lowry contributed 13 points along with six assists from the bench. Andre Drummond had a modest debut for his new team, scoring only 10 points, while Eric Gordon had a challenging game, finishing with just two points on one of six shooting.
The Toronto Raptors might still be feeling the effects of their recent defeat to the Cavaliers, who decisively won 136-106 in the Raptors’ home opener. Gradey Dick led the starting lineup with 16 points, while Chris Boucher provided a strong performance off the bench with 18 points. Immanuel Quickley also added 13 points to the team’s total. In contrast, Scottie Barnes struggled throughout the game, concluding with only nine points on three of 14 shooting.
The Pick:
The 76ers remain without Joel Embiid and Paul George, while the Raptors are expected to add Immanuel Quickley to their injury list, alongside Kelly Olynyk and RJ Barrett. Following their disappointing loss to the Bucks on Wednesday, the 76ers now have the opportunity to face a Raptors team that has recently experienced a significant defeat, losing by 30 points in their last outing. Despite both teams dealing with injuries to key players, the 76ers seem to be in a stronger position, bolstered by the presence of Maxey and Lowry. This contest is likely to be closely contested, but it is anticipated that the 76ers will achieve a vital win on the road.
Charlotte Hornets vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Hornets at Hawks at 7:30 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets are seeking to secure their second consecutive victory following a hard-fought 110-105 win against the Rockets on the road this past Wednesday night. LaMelo Ball was the standout performer, contributing 34 points, eight rebounds, and 11 assists. Tre Mann provided valuable support with 24 points on eight of 16 shooting from the bench, while Miles Bridges added 10 points and nine rebounds to the team’s efforts.
The Atlanta Hawks approach this game with confidence, following a close victory over the Nets, winning 120-116 in their home opener. Trae Young was instrumental in the win, scoring 30 points and providing 12 assists. Onyeka Okongwu excelled off the bench, contributing 28 points on an impressive 11 of 12 shooting. Dyson Daniels also made his mark with 15 points and five steals, while Jalen Johnson rounded out the performance with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.
The Pick:
The Hornets are likely to be in high spirits after their surprising victory against the Rockets, and they may possess quiet confidence regarding their prospects against the currently struggling Hawks. While it is understandable that the Hawks are favored on their home court, I believe the Hornets are receiving sufficient points to either maintain a competitive margin or potentially secure a victory.
Detroit Pistons vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Pistons at Cavaliers at 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons continue their quest for their inaugural victory of the season, having narrowly lost to the Pacers with a score of 115-109 in a closely contested match on Wednesday. Cade Cunningham was the standout performer for the team, contributing 28 points and eight assists on 10 of 23 shooting. Additionally, Jaden Ivey scored 17 points, while Jalen Duren recorded a double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are eager to sustain their winning streak after a resounding 136-106 triumph against the Raptors on Wednesday. Evan Mobley led the charge with 25 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks, achieving a shooting accuracy of nine out of 14. Donovan Mitchell contributed 21 points, and Caris LeVert made a notable impact from the bench, scoring 19 points on eight of nine shooting.
The Pick:
The Pistons put forth a strong effort to remain competitive against the Pacers in a closely contested game on Wednesday. However, matching that level of performance against the Cavaliers, who looked impressive in their first game, will be a daunting challenge. The Pistons deserve recognition for their determination in their last match, yet I am not confident in their ability to resist the Cavaliers on their home turf.
Indiana Pacers vs New York Knicks Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Pacers at Knicks at 7:30 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers are looking to achieve a second straight victory to begin their season, following a narrow 115-109 triumph over the tenacious Pistons on Wednesday. Myles Turner was instrumental in the win, posting 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. Pascal Siakam contributed 19 points, along with eight rebounds and nine assists, while Bennedict Mathurin provided a vital boost from the bench, scoring 19 points in 28 minutes of play.
The New York Knicks are looking to improve their performance following a significant loss to the Celtics, who defeated them 132-109 in an away game on Tuesday. Jalen Brunson was the standout player for the team, scoring 22 points with an impressive nine of 14 shooting. Miles McBride contributed 22 points off the bench, including four successful three-pointers, while Mikal Bridges added 16 points. In contrast, OG Anunoby faced difficulties, managing only four points with a shooting percentage of one for seven.
The Pick:
In their last encounter, the Knicks were unable to compete effectively against the Celtics, who remarkably converted 29 shots from beyond the three-point line. Meanwhile, the Pacers had to labor extensively to overcome the underperforming Pistons in their opening game of the season. I expect the Knicks to deliver a stronger performance in this next matchup; however, I find the current betting line unconvincing. I contend that the line ought to reflect a pick ’em situation, prompting me to lean towards the Pacers with the points in what promises to be a closely fought battle.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Houston Rockets Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Grizzlies at Rockets at 8 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies secured a victory against the Jazz in their season opener. Currently, the Grizzlies are averaging 126 points per game with a shooting percentage of 47.3, while conceding an average of 124 points on 47.1 percent shooting. Santi Aldama leads the team with an average of 27 points and 5 rebounds, followed closely by Desmond Bane, who averages 24 points and 4 assists. Ja Morant contributes as the third player in double digits, and Jay Huff is averaging 5 rebounds per game. The team is shooting 37.8 percent from three-point range and 71.9 percent from the free-throw line. Defensively, the Grizzlies are allowing opponents to shoot 38.5 percent from beyond the arc and are securing an average of 41 rebounds per game.
In their season opener, the Houston Rockets faced a loss against the Hornets. The team is currently averaging 105 points per game with a shooting accuracy of 36.9 percent, while they permit 110 points at a rate of 44.7 percent shooting. Jalen Green is the standout player, averaging 28 points and 2 rebounds, while Alperen Sengun follows with 25 points and 18 rebounds. Fred VanVleet serves as the third player to score in double digits, and Amen Thompson is contributing with an average of 4 rebounds. The Rockets are shooting 30.2 percent from three-point range and achieving an 80 percent success rate from the free-throw line. On the defensive end, they allow 38.5 percent shooting from long distance and average 43 rebounds per game.
The Pick:
The Houston Rockets did not perform well in their opening game; however, their considerable talent suggests that these problems are unlikely to persist. The Memphis Grizzlies are currently one of the most injury-riddled teams in the league, missing key players such as Kenndard, JJJ, Jackson, and others. Although Ja is certainly capable of carrying the team and securing victories, it is a significant challenge. The Rockets have no room for excuses. Matches of this nature are essential for the Rockets if they wish to remain in the playoff discussion. I will support the Rockets by taking the spread.
Chicago Bulls vs Milwaukee Bucks Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Bulls at Bucks at 8 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls suffered a loss to the Pelicans in their first game of the season. They are currently averaging 111 points with a shooting percentage of 48.8, while allowing 123 points at a shooting percentage of 46.4. Zach LaVine is averaging 27 points along with 5 rebounds, and Nikola Vucevic is contributing 21 points and 1 assist. Jalen Smith is the third player to reach double digits in scoring, and Josh Giddey is averaging 5 rebounds. The Bulls’ performance from beyond the arc is at 29.4 percent, and they are converting 68 percent of their free throws. Defensively, they are allowing 37.8 percent shooting from three-point range and securing an average of 47 rebounds per game.
In their opening match, the Milwaukee Bucks secured a victory against the 76ers. The team is currently averaging 124 points per game with an impressive shooting accuracy of 53.8 percent, while they allow 109 points at a rate of 41.8 percent shooting. Damian Lillard is leading the scoring with an average of 30 points and 9 rebounds, while Giannis Antetokounmpo contributes 25 points and 14 rebounds. Taurean Prince is the third player to achieve double-digit scoring, and Bobby Portis is averaging 3 rebounds per game. The Bucks are excelling in three-point shooting with a rate of 43.2 percent and are converting 71 percent of their free throws. On the defensive end, they restrict opponents to 25.8 percent shooting from three-point range and average 46 rebounds per game.
The Pick:
The Chicago Bulls struggled in their season opener and are now preparing to take on a more formidable opponent away from home. In my previous commentary regarding the Milwaukee Bucks, I mentioned their capability to begin the season on a strong note. Lillard is in better form this season, and Antetokounmpo is in good health. The Bucks seem to be a team that has been largely overlooked, yet they have the potential to emerge as a significant contender. At present, the Bulls do not evoke much confidence, particularly with Ball sidelined, which reduces their overall effectiveness. I anticipate that the Bucks will win by a margin of at least ten points in their home arena.
Golden State Warriors vs Utah Jazz Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Warriors at Jazz at 9:30 PM ET
In the inaugural game of the season, the Golden State Warriors triumphed over the Trail Blazers. The team is currently averaging 139 points per game with a shooting accuracy of 51.6 percent, while they are allowing 104 points at a rate of 39.1 percent shooting. Buddy Hield is leading with an average of 22 points and 1 assist, followed by Andrew Wiggins, who averages 20 points and 2 assists. Stephen Curry is the third player to reach double digits in scoring, and Moses Moody is contributing with 2 rebounds per game. The Warriors are shooting 41.7 percent from three-point range and maintaining an 80 percent free-throw shooting rate. On the defensive end, they are limiting opponents to 23.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc and averaging 57 rebounds per game.
The Utah Jazz commenced their season with a loss to the Grizzlies. At present, the team averages 124 points per game, shooting at 47.1 percent, while they allow 126 points with an opponent shooting percentage of 47.3. Lauri Markkanen is leading the team with an average of 35 points and 9 rebounds, while Jordan Clarkson adds 17 points and 5 rebounds. Collin Sexton is the third player to score in double digits, and Walker Kessler contributes with 1 assist. The Jazz are shooting 38.5 percent from three-point range and 75.6 percent from the free-throw line. Defensively, they allow 37.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc and average 49 rebounds per game.
The Pick:
The Utah Jazz exhibited a complete lack of defensive effort in their season opener, facing a Memphis Grizzlies team that was dealing with injuries. The Golden State Warriors are the superior team, particularly when their key players are active. It is essential for the Warriors to capitalize on matchups against weaker opponents if they aim to secure a playoff position. Their victory over Portland marked a positive beginning. The betting line is narrow due to the injury updates, so it is advisable to review them prior to placing any bets. I am still favoring the Warriors.
Phoenix Suns vs LA Lakers Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Suns at Lakers at 10 PM ET
The Phoenix Suns emerged victorious against the Clippers in their first game of the season. They are currently averaging 116 points per game with a shooting percentage of 48.7%, while allowing 113 points at a shooting percentage of 45.7%. Kevin Durant is leading the team with an average of 25 points and 7 rebounds, and Bradley Beal follows with 24 points and 3 rebounds. Devin Booker is the third player to score in double digits, and Jusuf Nurkic is averaging 9 rebounds. The Suns are shooting 39.5% from three-point range and 73.5% from the free-throw line. Defensively, they are permitting 27.6% shooting from beyond the arc and securing an average of 42 rebounds per game.
The Los Angeles Lakers secured a victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves in their season opener. Currently, the Lakers are averaging 110 points per game with a shooting percentage of 44.2, while they are permitting 103 points at a shooting percentage of 41.2. Anthony Davis leads the team with an impressive average of 36 points and 16 rebounds, followed by Rui Hachimura, who contributes 18 points and 5 rebounds. LeBron James stands as the third player to score in double digits, and Austin Reaves is contributing with 9 rebounds. The Lakers’ three-point shooting stands at 16.7 percent, and they are performing well at the free-throw line with an 84 percent success rate. Defensively, they are allowing opponents to shoot 31.7 percent from beyond the arc and are averaging 46 rebounds per game.
The Pick:
I entered the season with a positive outlook on the Phoenix Suns, and I will actively support them if they are offered as underdogs. The team has made significant strides with their new head coach, and Beal demonstrated his potential in his initial game. The Suns are undoubtedly one of the more talented squads in the league. I am eager to take the opportunity to back the Suns with the points while they are playing on the road.
New Orleans Pelicans vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction NBA Picks 10/25/24
Pelicans at Trail Blazers at 10 PM ET
In their opening match, the New Orleans Pelicans triumphed over the Bulls. The team is currently averaging 123 points per game with a shooting accuracy of 46.4%, while they allow 111 points with an opponent shooting percentage of 48.8%. Brandon Ingram is the standout player, averaging 33 points and 7 rebounds, while CJ McCollum adds 23 points and 2 rebounds to the team’s efforts. Dejounte Murray is also contributing as a double-digit scorer, and Jordan Hawkins is averaging 7 rebounds. The Pelicans have demonstrated strong shooting from three-point territory, with a success rate of 37.8%, and they excel at the free throw line with a conversion rate of 90.5%. On the defensive end, they restrict opponents to 29.4% shooting from three-point range and average 42 rebounds per game.
In their season opener, the Portland Trail Blazers faced a loss against the Warriors. The team is currently averaging 104 points with a shooting efficiency of 39.1 percent, while they are permitting 139 points at a shooting rate of 51.6 percent. Scoot Henderson is the leading scorer with an average of 22 points and 4 rebounds, while Jerami Grant contributes 16 points and 2 rebounds. Anfernee Simons is also a key player, scoring in double digits, and Deni Avdija is averaging 7 rebounds per game. The Trail Blazers’ three-point shooting stands at 23.5 percent, and they are successful 80 percent of the time at the free-throw line. On the defensive end, they are allowing 41.7 percent shooting from three-point range and averaging 42 rebounds per game.
The Pick:
The injury to Murray has dealt a significant blow to the New Orleans Pelicans; nonetheless, the team possesses ample talent to prevail in this contest. The Portland Trail Blazers have been notably deficient in their defensive efforts and lack the skilled players required to compete effectively against stronger opponents on a regular basis. The Pelicans have won 9 out of their last 10 matchups against the Trail Blazers, covering the spread in 7 of those instances. Considering the previous season’s performance and the outcome of the first game this year, it seems unlikely that the Trail Blazers will secure many wins. I would back the Pelicans at a reasonable point spread.
