As a team, the Nuggets shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 30 from the 3-point line as they struggled to contain the Pistons early on and leaked 69 points in the first half to trail by as many as 20 points which was a shame because the Nuggets exploded for 71 points in the second half to trail by just two points with 2:05 left in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been on a tear as they are now gunning for an eighth straight victory after blowing past the Wizards in a 132-101 road win last night. Mikal Bridges led the team with 23 points and five assists, Jalen Brunson added 21 points while OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns each scored 19 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 52 percent from the field and 17 of 37 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Wizards from the tipoff to take a 72-45 lead into halftime, before they pulled their starters early in the second half to allow their reserves extra playing time.

The Nuggets are still missing Aaron Gordon and Cameron Johnson, while the Knicks have ruled out Miles McBride with Josh Hart listed as day to day. The Nuggets haven’t been at their best lately as they are still dealing with some injuries and their last two defeats have been against two of the hottest teams in the league but they won’t have time to complain as they now visit the Knicks who have reeled off seven wins on the trot. This is a game where you should check the lineups before tipoff given the injury cloud hanging over the Knicks, but the Knicks have been in a groove lately and I think they can take care of business at the short line in this spot.
