The Charlotte Hornets invade the Barclays Center to battle the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.
Charlotte Hornets Betting Preview
The Charlotte Hornets made plenty of moves in the offseason as they overhauled their front office, coaching staff and they traded away LaMelo Ball in what can only be described as a full reset for their franchise. The Hornets didn’t stop there as they traded away Josh Green, Miles Bridges and Tre Mann while acquiring Naz Reid, Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale and Dennis Schroder. Even though the Hornets lost a superstar talent in Ball, there is still plenty of optimism following the long list of changes they went through and it gives a clear path for new head coach Charles Lee.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets are looking to go into full rebuild mode as they traded away more of their veteran talent to focus on their young pieces. The Nets traded away Royce O’Neale, Cam Thomas and Dennis Schroder while acquiring Julius Randle and Michael Porter Jr, then they signed Moritz Wagner and Keon Ellis through free agency. Expectations may be low for the Nets once again, but Randle and Porter Jr provides them with veteran leadership alongside young talents like Egor Demin, Noah Clowney and Nolan Traore.
Charlotte v Brooklyn Free Prediction
The Hornets are going to be short handed to start their campaign as Kon Knueppel, Grant Williams and Coby White are all ruled out, while the Nets enter with a full squad. The Nets have opened as slight favorites and the early money has been going their way to push the line up further and I think that’s to be expected given the excitement surrounding their two new pieces. The Hornets are banged up to start the season and they are only 2-7 ATS in their last nine games when listed as road underdogs of 3 pointers or fewer, so I am going to lean with the Nets to take advantage and secure their first win of the season.
