The Chicago Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers duke it out at the Xfinity Mobile Arena on Monday night.
Chicago Bulls Betting Preview
The Chicago Bulls have been ice-cold so far as they’ve lost five of their first six games and they will be hoping to avoid a fifth straight defeat after getting routed by the Celtics in a 125-111 road defeat on Friday. Caleb Wilson led the team with 23 points, five rebounds and four assists, Norman Powell added 16 points while Matas Buzelis chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Bulls shot just 38 percent from the field and 15 of 50 from the 3-point line, but this game was over before halftime as the Bulls really had no chance after getting outscored by 78-49 in the first half. The only saving grace was that the Bulls won the rebounding battle and they were able to cut into the deficit, but that was only late in the fourth quarter with the game well and truly over.
Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have stormed out of the gates with six wins from their first seven games and they will be eager to build on their current three-game win streak after beating the Hornets in a 109-104 road win on Saturday. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 38 points on 13 of 23 shooting, Anfernee Simons added 19 points off the bench while Jaylen Brown chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 47 percent from the field and 14 of 35 from the 3-point line as they held the Hornets to just 17 points in the second quarter to overcome an early 13-point deficit, but they still looked like they were in trouble until 3:11 left in the fourth quarter where the 76ers closed on a 15-3 run to secure the gritty road win.
Chicago v Philadelphia Free Prediction
The Bulls are still missing Nic Claxton but they should have Jalen Smith back in action, while the 76ers have ruled out Dominick Barlow but they are keeping an eye on Joel Embiid who is questionable for this one. The Bulls have struggled to stay competitive so far this season and they’re not getting the production or leadership you would expect from players like Josh Giddey and Norman Powell so it’s no surprise that they’ve opened as heavy underdogs against the red-hot 76ers. Based on talent, the 76ers should be winning this game by at least 30 points, but every now and again you play down to your competition and find yourselves in a real battle like what happened against the Hornets on Saturday. The Bulls have been terrible defensively so far and I just don’t think they will get enough stops to keep the margin from blowing out. Give me the 76ers to get a comfortable win and cover at home in this spot.
