As a team, the Hawks shot 51 percent from the field and 15 of 37 from the 3-point line as they took full control of the contest with a 47-point explosion in the second quarter to take a double-digit lead and they didn’t stop there as they dominated the second half to secure another blowout win to add to their impressive run.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 11 of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping for a better effort after getting humbled by the Hornets in an ugly 117-86 home defeat on Tuesday. Josh Minott led the team in scoring with just 14 points off the bench, Chaney Johnson added 11 points while Nolan Traore and Drake Powell each scored 10 points. As a team, the Nets shot a miserable 38 percent from the field and seven of 35 from the 3-point line as they had no answers for the Hornets at the start of the game and were always fighting an uphill battle after getting outscored by 35-18 in the first quarter. The Nets weren’t much better in the second half where they managed just 41 points to finish with one of their lowest scoring games this season.

The Hawks have ruled out Jock Landale with an ankle sprain, while the Nets have ruled out Michael Porter Jr, Danny Wolf, Egor Demin and Terance Mann. This is a classic case of two teams trending in opposite directions as the Hawks are one of the hottest teams in the league right now while the Nets are just praying for the season to end. These teams have already met three times this season with the Hawks winning each game and I think that trend continues here as the Hawks should have way too much firepower for the severely depleted Nets who can’t buy a win these days.
