France and Brazil meet Saturday in the 2024 Summer Olympics at Pierre Mauroy Stadium. Here’s a France vs Brazil Prediction. This article will include a France vs Brazil Pick.
France Betting Preview
France left Sydney and Tokyo with silver medals, and now the hype is massive being the host country. France currently has the third-best future odds, behind only Canada and USA. France is led by coach Vincent Collet, who is a several time champion and a five-time French League Best Coach. As for the French roster, the superstar is obviously Victor Wembanyama, who dazzled as a rookie for the San Antonio Spurs and has unlimited upside. Four time defensive player of the year in Rudy Gobert clogs the middle, and grizzly veterans Evan Fournier and Nicolas Batum are back for more international competition. Bilal Coulibaly is currently on the Washington Wizards and Mathias Lessort is a back to back EuroLeague first-team selection. Team France also has Frank Ntilikina, who may have struggled in the NBA, but was a top-10 pick in 2017 for his raw talent. Team France has legit expectations to leave this summer with a medal.
Brazil Betting Preview
Brazil is in its first Olympics since 2016 and its third since 2000. Brazil hasn’t won a basketball Olympic medal since 1964 and only Japan has worse future odds for this event. Brazil is led by head coach Aleksandar Petrovic, who is a six-time Croatian League champion and was the 2011 EuroCup coach of the year. Team Brazil no longer has Leandro Barbosa and Tiago Splitter leading the way, but this is an experienced roster that has chemistry and 10 players who are at least 25 years old. Gui Santos is the only current NBA player on team Brazil, while current free agent Raul Neto is also on the roster. Marcelo Huertas has accomplished pretty much everything at 41 years old, and was just the FIBA Champions League MVP. Bruno Caboclo was just an All-Bundesliga First Team selection and Lucas Dias was an All-BCL Americas First Team selection. Georginho just won the FIBA Intercontinental Cup as well as the BCL Americas. Brazil lacks the household names and expectations aren’t there, but this is an experienced team full of guys used to winning outside of international play.
France vs Brazil Prediction
France has the top end talent to win this game comfortably and will obviously be the massive crowd favorite. Seeing a blowout wouldn’t be shocking. However, this line is a bit too steep. Brazil is an experienced group that’s used to playing together and has an old man style approach offensively that can result in decent half court success. We also have a France team that’s dealing with overwhelming pressure to succeed and a Brazil team that only Japan has worse future odds. That creates a recipe for a close, tight game. One team has everything to lose, the other is playing with house money.
Give me Brazil and the points.
