The San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers meet Saturday in summer league NBA action at the Thomas & Mack Center. Here’s a San Antonio Spurs vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction. This article will include a San Antonio Spurs vs Portland Trail Blazers Pick.
San Antonio Spurs Betting Preview
Spurs coming off their first win of the Summer League after losing their first two games. After losing to the Charlotte Hornets and Sacramento Kings, the Spurs were able to beat Team China in the last game. The offense scored 89 points while the defense gave up 67 points. Guard Stephon Castle had a strong game putting up 18 points. Jamaree Bouyea also put up 14 points and was a +6. Harrison Ingram also put up 16 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Two games ago the offense only scored 59 points and that led to the defeat. The Spurs offense is going to need to be better here, and they can’t fall behind early. With this being Portland’s first game they don’t want to give them any type of momentum early.
Portland Trail Blazers Prediction
The Portland Trail Blazers are going to be their first game of the Summer League in this game. All eyes are going to be on Donovan Clingan who was picked seventh overall by the Trail Blazers. Last season with the UConn Huskies, Clingan averaged 13 points while shooting 63.9 percent from the field. Kris Murray and Ryan Rupert both are entering their second year and both will be on the team. Justin Minaya is a third year player, and will also be making a run in the Summer League. There are especially high hopes around Murray and he has a lot to prove here.
San Antonio Spurs vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction
I am not sold on this Spurs summer league team, especially with the way they looked during the first three games. The only win was against a terrible China team, and the other games they didn’t look good. The Trail Blazers are going to use a balanced attack and that is going to be the difference here. The Spurs aren’t going to be keeping up, and the Trail Blazers will get the job done. Back the Trail Blazers against the spread.
