The Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers meet Friday in summer league NBA action at the Pavilion. Here’s a Brooklyn Nets vs Indiana Pacers Prediction. This article will include a Brooklyn Nets vs Indiana Pacers Pick.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
The Brooklyn Nets will be led by assistant coach Steve Hetzel. The Nets roster is led by Noah Clowney, Jalen Wilson and Dariq Whitehead, a trio that played in 68 games last season. Clowney and Wilson need to provide hope for the future while the Nets move forward past the Mikal Bridges trade. Whitehead will make his summer league debut and will be the first time we’ve seen him since having shin surgery in January. Other players to watch for the Nets include Jaylen Martin, who was highly productive in the G League, and Jacob Gilyard, who was one of the best defenders in college basketball at Richmond.
Indiana Pacers Betting Preview
The Indiana Pacers will put their draft picks to the test, as they have three 2024 selections on their roster in Enrique Freeman, Johnny Furphy and Tristen Newton. The Pacers are also playing their two 2023 first round picks in Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard. As for names you may know, Quenton Jackson and Oscar Tshiebwe, are on this Pacers roster, and they played in a combined 11 games last season. Pacers fans will be rooting for Dakota Mathias and Lance Jones, two guys who played at Purdue. This summer league for the Pacers is all about finding potential depth and adding to a club that made a deep playoff run and appears to be heading in the right direction as a contender in the East.
Brooklyn Nets vs Indiana Pacers Prediction
You could make a case for either side, and the Brooklyn Nets actually have more experienced in terms of NBA playing time, with Clowney and Wilson racking up a lot of appearances last season. However, the Pacers have more talent overall, with endless drafted players and first round selections. Until we get a feel for each team, I'm going to side with talent and upside, especially if the line is reasonable. I'll lay the small chalk with the Pacers on Thursday.
