The Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics meet Friday in NBA action at the TD Garden. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Hornets vs Celtics prediction.
Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets have been in a major slump as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games overall, but they will be feeling much better after outlasting the Hawks in a 115-114 road win on Wednesday. Brandon Miller led the team with 27 points on nine of 17 shooting, Miles Bridges added 18 points while Tre Mann tallied 16 points with seven assists and seven steals. As a team, the Hornets shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and fell behind by as many as 18 points, before they came to life with 38 points in the fourth quarter to steal the lead with just 3.1 seconds left on the clock.
Boston Celtics
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics look to have cooled off from their five-game win streak as they are now hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling short to the Knicks in a 118-109 loss last night. Jayson Tatum led the team with 18 points and seven assists, Payton Pritchard added 16 points with six assists off the bench while Jaylen Brown chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Celtics shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 42 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get early production from their starters and fell into a 31-point deficit, before they exploded for 38 points in the fourth quarter to make it interesting at the end.
Matchup/League Facts
- The Celtics rank 1st in the league for point differential per game this season (+11.1).
- The Celtics rank 1st in the league for opponent blocks per game this season (3.7).
- The Hornets rank 30th in the league for point differential per game this season (-10.2).
- The Hornets rank 30th in the league for rebounds per game this season (40.3).
Hornets vs Celtics prediction
The Hornets are still one of the coldest teams in the league despite being relatively healthy, while the Celtics are suddenly looking to avoid a third straight loss after falling to the Knicks last night. The Celtics didn't look like themselves last night, but I think they bounce back against this slumping Hornets team, who were ice-cold before their latest win. This should be a close one, but I like the Celtics to pull away late for the much-needed win at home.
