The Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks meet Tuesday in NBA action at the State Farm Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Heat vs Hawks prediction.
Miami Heat
The Miami Heat have been in decent shape as they've won four of their last six games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting beaten by the Pacers in a 117-115 road defeat on Sunday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 27 points and eight assists, Tyler Herro added 21 points off the bench while Bam Adebayo and Caleb Martin scored 20 points apiece. As a team, the Heat shot 46 percent from the field and eight of 27 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and worked hard to cut a 22-point deficit to just one point, only to see the Pacers sink some late free throws to slip away in the end.
Atlanta Hawks
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in pretty good shape as they've won six of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting thrashed by the Nuggets in a 142-110 road defeat on Saturday. Clint Capela led the team in scoring with 19 points, 12 rebounds and three assists, Bogdan Bogdanovic and De'Andre Hunter scored 18 points each while Jalen Johnson chipped in with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 42 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line, but they offered little defense in this one and were never really a threat after allowing 42 points in the third quarter.
Atlanta Hawks Player Facts
- Garrison Mathews ranks 1st amongst qualified players for 3P% (46.7%) this season.
- Bogdan Bogdanovic is one of only three players to have scored 40+ points off the bench in a game this season.
Miami Heat Player Facts
- Jimmy Butler ranks 5th in the Eastern Conference amongst qualified players for steals per game (1.3) this season.
Matchup/League Facts
- The Hawks rank 2nd in the league for offensive rebounds per game this season (12.6).
- The Hawks rank 2nd in the league for field goal attempts per game this season (92.4).
- The Heat rank 30th in the league for blocks per game this season (3.4).
- The Heat rank 29th in the league for H2 points per game this season (53.5).
Heat vs Hawks prediction
The Heat are still shorthanded with Josh Richardson and Duncan Robinson still out, while the Hawks are still without Trae Young and Saddiq Bey to name a few. Both teams are coming into this one with winning momentum, but the Heat are almost back to full health now and I think they can bounce back from their tough loss on Sunday with a much-needed win and cover here.
Peter’s Pick Miami -3.5
