The Pelicans and Pistons meet Sunday in NBA action at the Little Caesars Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Pelicans vs Pistons prediction.
New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans have been in great form as they've won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be eager to keep it going after making light work of the Heat in a 111-88 road win on Friday. CJ McCollum led the team with 30 points, five rebounds and seven assists, Jose Alverado added 17 points with seven rebounds and six assists while Naji Marshall chipped in with 13 points on six of 11 shooting of the bench. As a team, the Pelicans shot 51 percent from the field and 18 of 36 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with their defense, holding the Heat to just 42 points in the first half to take the early lead, before they exploded for 65 points in the second half to make it a complete blowout in the end. The only blemish from the win was Zion Williamson who finished with just four points on two of seven shooting.
Detroit Pistons
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have continued to struggle as they are now hoping to put a halt to a five-game losing streak after getting blown off the floor by the Celtics in a 129-102 loss on Friday. James Wiseman led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists on 11 of 13 shooting, Jaden Ivey added 16 points while Cade Cunningham chipped in with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 31 from the 3-point line, but the writing was on the wall early in this one as you could easily see that the Pistons had their work cut out for them after getting outscored by 37-19 in the second quarter. The Pistons will meet the Knicks and Timberwolves after this one.

Matchup/League Facts
- The Pistons rank 30th in the league for steals per game this season (6.2).
- The Pistons rank 30th in the league for opponent steals per game this season (9.0).
- The Pelicans rank 1st in the league for opponent three-point percentage this season (34.5%).
- The Pelicans rank 1st in the league for Q2 opponent points per game this season (26.5).
Pelicans vs Pistons
The Pelicans are still shorthanded with Dyson Daniels and Brandon Ingram still out, while the Pistons have ruled out Quentin Grimes and Isaiah Stewart again with Jalen Duren listed as questionable. The Pelicans come into this meeting clearly as the team in better form as they are one of the hottest teams in the league right now and they just dismantled the Heat in a dominant win on Friday, so it's hard to imagine them struggling against this slumping Pistons squad who have nothing to play for at this stage of the season. The line is predictably hefty for this one, but the Pelicans are the pick and I think they get the win with ease in this spot.
