The Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves meet Friday in NBA action at the Target Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Cavaliers vs Timberwolves prediction.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in a rut as they've lost four of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after falling painfully short to the Heat in a 107-104 loss on Wednesday. Jarrett Allen led the team with 25 points, 20 rebounds and three assists on 10 of 13 shooting, Darius Garland added 20 points with nine assists while Georges Niang chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 46 percent from the field and 15 of 42 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to claw their way back from an 11-point deficit to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, only to allow the Heat to close the final 2:04 on a 13-6 run to fall just short in a disappointing finish.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in fine form as they've won five of their last eight games overall, but they will be eager for a better performance in this one after having their three-game win streak halted by the red-hot Nuggets in a 115-112 loss on Tuesday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Jaden McDaniels added 26 points on nine of 13 shooting while Mike Conley chipped in with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line as they looked be in control when they erased an 18-point lead to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but they still couldn't get over the line as they had no answer for the Nuggets who made six free throws in the final 20.0 seconds to slip away in a close finish. The Timberwolves will meet the Warriors after this one.

- The Timberwolves rank 1st in the league for opponent points per game this season (106.7).
- The Timberwolves rank 1st in the league for opponent field goal percentage this season (44.8%).
- The Cavaliers are one of only two teams with two players averaging a double-double this season.
- The Cavaliers rank 2nd in the league for Q2 opponent points per game this season (26.6).
Cavaliers vs Timberwolves prediction
The Cavaliers are still missing a few players with Evan Mobley, Dean Wade and Donovan Mitchell all ruled out again, while the Timberwolves are keeping eyes on Rudy Gobert, Naz Reid and Anthony Edwards who are all questionable for this one. This is definitely a game where you want to check the lineups before tipoff, but as it stands, I'm more comfortable going with the Cavaliers to come away with the much-needed win here.
