As a team, the Nuggets shot 55 percent from the field and 10 of 25 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start, outscoring the Spurs by 37-18 in the first quarter to open a 21-point lead which was more than enough to hold off a second-half run from the Spurs to made it somewhat interesting at the end.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks were on a four-game winning streak before they got stopped in their tracks by the red-hot Thunder in a 126-119 road defeat on Thursday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 36 points with 12 assists, Tim Hardaway Jr added 23 points on eight of 13 shooting off the bench while Daniel Gafford chipped in with 19 points and 15 rebounds on eight of 11 shooting. As a team, the Mavericks shot 51 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Thunder in a tight contest until early in the third quarter where the Thunder went on a pivotal 16-4 run to pull away from them. PJ Washington had a night to forget as he shot just one of 11 from the field and zero of seven from the 3-point line to finish with just six points.
