The Dallas Mavericks and the Cleveland Cavaliers duke it out at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Tuesday night. Here’s a Mavs vs Cavs Prediction.
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have been on a nice run as they were riding a seven-game win streak before they got stopped in their tracks by the Pacers in a 133-111 road defeat on Sunday. Luka Doncic led the team with 33 points, six rebounds and six assists, Kyrie Irving added 20 points on 10 of 22 shooting while Josh Green chipped in with 14 points on six of eight shooting. As a team, the Mavericks shot 47 percent from the field and 14 of 31 from the 3-point line, but they could do little to slow down the Pacers who shot over 55 percent from the field for the entire game. Just four players finished in double figures in scoring for the Mavericks and PJ Washington finished with just two points on one of six shooting. The Mavs will meet the Raptors and Celtics after this one.
Cleveland Cavaliers
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in fine form as they've won 11 of their last 14 games overall and they will be eager to keep it going after taking down the Wizards in a 114-105 road win on Sunday. Jarrett Allen led the team with 22 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, Evan Mobley added 21 points with six rebounds and five blocks on nine of 11 shooting while Caris LeVert chipped in with 18 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists off the bench. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 50 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line as they struggled to gain any separation from the pesky Wizards, until they went on a pivotal 17-5 run in the third quarter to start to pull away.

Mavs vs Cavs Prediction
The Mavericks are still a little short handed with Dante Exum still out, while the Cavaliers are missing Ty Jerome once again. The Mavericks have been one of the hottest teams in the league before their loss to the Pacers on Sunday, while the Cavaliers have continued their red-hot form with a win over the Wizards in their last outing. These teams last met on Dec 27 and it was the Cavaliers who won by 113-110 on the road and I'm expecting a similar result in this one. I'm sure we're in for another close contest, but I am a little more comfortable siding with the Cavaliers to get the job done at home.
