The Dallas Mavericks pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Tuesday night. Here’s a Mavs vs Nets Prediction.
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have been in a real slump as they've lost six of their last eight games overall and they will be eager to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Bucks in a 129-117 loss on Saturday. Luka Doncic led the team with 40 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists, Maxi Kleber added 21 points on eight of 11 shooting while Josh Green chipped in with 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Mavericks shot 49 percent from the field and 16 of 39 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 44 points in the first quarter to take an early 25-point lead, but they took their foot off the gas for a second and just couldn't stop the Bucks who dominated the rest of the way thanks to a combined 78 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. The Mavs will play against the Knicks after this one.
Brooklyn Nets
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in decent shape lately as they've won three of their past five games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting beaten by the Warriors in a 109-98 loss last night. Cam Thomas led the team with 18 points on four of 21 shooting, Nicolas Claxton and Royce O'Neale each scored 15 points while Mikal Bridges chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Nets shot just 38 percent from the field and 13 of 42 from the 3-point line as they seemed to be in control when they took a nine-point lead into halftime, only to get blown out by 66-49 as they had no answer for the Warriors' duo of Jonathan Kuminga and Stephen Curry who scored 28 and 29 points respectively.

Mavs vs Nets Prediction
The Mavericks are still shorthanded with Dereck Lively and Dante Exum both ruled out, while the Nets are still missing Ben Simmons, Cameron Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith. The Mavericks have been struggling for a while now and their confidence took a real shot after blowing a 25-point lead to the Bucks in an ugly loss on Saturday, while the Nets were starting to heat up before last night's defeat to the Warriors. It's hard to back either side with too much confidence these days, but the Mavericks are bound to turn things around sooner rather than later and I think it could start with a win over the Nets who are playing their second game of a back to back set.
