The Philadelphia 76ers pay a visit to the Denver Nuggets at the Ball Arena on Saturday night. Here’s a 76ers vs Nuggets Prediction.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in fine form as they were riding a six-game win streak, before they got stopped in their tracks by the Pacers in a 134-122 road loss on Thursday. Joel Embiid led the team with 31 points on 11 of 20 shooting, Tyrese Maxey added 22 points while Nicolas Batum chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 48 percent from the field and seven of 29 from the 3-point line, but they weren't at their usual standards on the defensive end, allowing 39 points in the second quarter to fall behind by 12 points into halftime, before they leaked another 37 points in the third quarter to trail by as many as 27 points.
Philadelphia 76ers Player Facts
- Joel Embiid ranks 1st amongst qualified players for points per game (36.0) this season.
Denver Nuggets
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in pretty good shape as they've won five of their last seven games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting humbled by the red-hot Knicks in a 122-84 road defeat on Thursday. Nikola Jokic led the team with 31 points, 11 rebounds and three assists on 13 of 18 shooting while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 12 points, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Nuggets shot just 40 percent from the field and a miserly five of 26 from the 3-point line as they struggled against the pressure defense of the Knicks and simply got outpaced from start to finish. Jamal Murray had a quiet game of just nine points on three of 11 shooting, Reggie Jackson scored just two points on one of seven shooting while Jokic tallied just three assists while committing seven turnovers.
Denver Nuggets Player Facts
- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ranks 8th amongst qualified players for steals per game (1.4) this season.
- Michael Porter Jr. ranks 9th amongst qualified Forwards for three-pointers made Per Game (2.7) this season.
Matchup/League Facts
- The Nuggets rank 29th in the league for free throws made per game this season (15.5).
- The Nuggets rank 28th in the league for free throw percentage this season (75.3%).
- The 76ers rank 1st in the league for steals per game this season (9.0).
- The 76ers rank 1st in the league for opponent steals per game this season (6.1).
76ers vs Nuggets Prediction
The 76ers are still shorthanded with Tobias Harris, Mo Bamba and Marcus Morris all out, while the Nuggets are coming in with a full squad once again. The 76ers were on a great run before they had their momentum halted by the Pacers in a tough loss on Thursday and you could say the same about the Nuggets who were rolling before their ugly loss to the Knicks. The 76ers beat the Nuggets by 126-121 less than two weeks ago, but with the 76ers shorthanded and on the road, I'm backing the Nuggets to bounce back from their massive loss with a solid win at home in this one.
