The Washington Wizards travel to the State Farm Arena to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. Here’s a Wizards vs Hawks Prediction.
Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards have been in a major slump as they've lost nine of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a six-game slide after getting beaten by the Pacers in a 112-104 road defeat on Wednesday. Jordan Poole led the team with 28 points and seven assists on 11 of 21 shooting, Deni Avdija and Corey Kispert scored 15 points each, while Daniel Gafford chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Wizards shot just 43 percent from the field and seven of 31 from the 3-point line as they took the early lead and looked to be in control until the Pacers opened the third quarter on a 13-2 run to reclaim the lead for good.
Atlanta Hawks
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in a slump as they've lost seven of their past 10 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting routed by the Pacers in a 126-108 loss last night. Dejounte Murray led the team with 29 points on 13 of 18 shooting, Saddiq Bey added 17 points while Jalen Johnson chipped in with 16 points on seven of 11 shooting. As a team, the Hawks shot 44 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they fight hard to hang within striking distance until they went cold and scored just 19 points in the third quarter to trail by as many as 27 points. Trae Young had a rough night as he scored just 13 points with five turnovers on four of 17 shooting.
Wizards vs Hawks Prediction
The Wizards have won just one of their past 10 games, but they've been playing a little better than their record suggests as they were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the streaking Pacers on Wednesday. The Hawks have been in terrible shape and they are coming off a blowout loss to the Pacers so we have a bit of a reference point here. You really couldn't back either team with any confidence of a return these days, so even though I think the Hawks get the win, I'm taking the Wizards with the points.
