The Milwaukee Bucks travel to the AT&T Center to do battle with the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night. Here's a Bucks vs Spurs prediction.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in fine form as they've won nine of their last 12 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting thrashed by the Pacers in a 142-130 defeat last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, Damian Lillard added 23 points with five assists while Khris Middleton chipped in with 19 points and seven assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they poured in 37 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, only to get completely blown away by 47-29 in the third quarter to fall behind by as many as 18 points.
Milwaukee Bucks Player Facts
- Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of only three qualified players in the league averaging at least 25.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists this season.
San Antonio Spurs
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in terrible form as they've lost eight of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game skid after getting beaten by the Grizzlies in a 106-98 road defeat on Tuesday. Victor Wembenyama led the team with 20 points, seven rebounds and four blocks, Keldon Johnson added 19 points off the bench while Jeremy Sochan chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 42 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep up right away, scoring just 17 points in the second quarter and they really didn't make any ground until they fell behind by 18 points.
San Antonio Spurs Player Facts
- Victor Wembanyama ranks 1st amongst qualified players for Blocks Per Game (3.1) this season.
- Devin Vassell ranks 25th amongst qualified players for steals per game (1.2) this season.
Matchup/League Facts
- The Spurs rank 30th in the league for point differential per game this season (-11.9).
- The Spurs rank 30th in the league for opponent three-point field goals made per game this season (14.4).
- The Bucks rank 30th in the league for opponent free throw percentage this season (82.4%).
- The Bucks rank 30th in the league for opponent field goal attempts per game this season (95.1).
Bucks vs Spurs prediction
The Bucks were on fire before they got beaten by the Pacers in back to back games and it's always tough to play on zero days' rest, but the Bucks are still more than capable of blowing away this slumping Spurs team who have lost eight of their last nine games. The line is hefty, but I still like the Bucks to bounce back with a comfortable win and cover on the road against this Spurs team who can't buy a win these days.
Peter’s Pick Milwaukee -9.5
