The Atlanta Hawks and the Washington Wizards duke it out at the Capital One Arena on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a Hawks vs Wizards Prediction.
Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks have been in a slump as they've lost 10 of their last 13 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a four-game slide after getting beaten by the Kings in a 117-110 loss on Friday. Trae Young led the team with 24 points, nine assists and four steals, Dejounte Murray added 18 points while Jalen Johnson chipped in with 16 points, 15 rebounds and four steals. As a team, the Hawks shot 39 percent from the field and 15 of 43 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Kings early to build a 23-point lead, only to get run down in a nightmarish second half where they got outscored by 64-39.

Washington Wizards
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in poor form as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after sneaking past the Nets in a 110-104 win on Friday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 26 points on 11 of 22 shooting, Deni Avdija added 21 points with 13 rebounds and six assists while Corey Kispert chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line but this win was more about their defense as they trailed after three quarters before they restricted the Nets to just 18 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the gritty home win.
Washington Wizards Player Facts
- Daniel Gafford ranks 2nd amongst qualified players for FG% (68.3%) this season.
- Jordan Poole ranks 12th in the Eastern Conference amongst qualified players for FT% (87.1%) this season.
Matchup/League Facts
- The Wizards rank 30th in the league for opponent points per game this season (126.0).
- The Wizards rank 30th in the league for opponent assists per game this season (30.4).
- The Hawks rank 1st in the league for field goal attempts per game this season (93.5).
- The Hawks rank 29th in the league for opponent assists per game this season (28.4).
Hawks vs Wizards Prediction
You couldn't back either team with any confidence this season, but these teams have already met twice this season with the Hawks winning both games. The Wizards could also be shorthanded here with Tyus Jones listed as questionable, so even though the line is a bit higher than I'd like, I would still lean towards the Hawks to get a much-needed road win in this spot.
