Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in red-hot form as they've won nine of their last 11 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after having their seven-game win streak snapped by the Knicks in a 129-122 loss on Christmas Day. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 32 points, 13 rebounds and six assists on 13 of 24 shooting, Damian Lillard tallied 32 points with eight assists while Khris Middleton chipped in with 24 points and six assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 42 from the 3-point line, but they just didn't come out ready to play defense and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing 36 points in the first quarter. The Bucks made a late rally after falling behind by 16 points, but even 71 points in the second half wasn't enough to get them over the line.
Brooklyn Nets
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets look to have moved on from their ugly five-game slide as thet are now aiming for a third straight win after sneaking past the Pistons in a 118-112 road win last night. Cam Johnson led the team with 24 points on nine of 13 shooting, Mikal Bridges added 21 points while Cam Thomas chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Nets shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 22 from the 3-point line as they took control of the contest with 36 points in the second quarter, but they found themselves in a real battle and needed a crucial 13-0 run in the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win in the end. The Nets will meet the Wizards after this game.
Bucks vs Nets Prediction
The Bucks could be shorthanded here with Giannis Antetokounmpo listed as questionable, while the Nets are still missing Lonnie Walker and Ben Simmons. The Bucks were absolutely on a roll before they got stopped in their tracks by the Knicks on Christmas Day, but they will have to pick up the slack as a team in this one if Antetokounmpo isn't able to suit up. The Nets were far from convincing in their narrow win over the lowly Pistons last night, and now they have to take on the Bucks as their second game of a back to back set. The Bucks have more than enough firepower to make up for the possible loss of Giannis and I think they take care of business behind a big game from Lillard in this one.
