The Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons duke it out at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night. Here’s a Nets vs Pistons Prediction.
Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have been doing it tough lately as they were riding a five-game losing streak before they snapped out of it with a 126-115 win over the slumping Pistons on Saturday. Mikal Bridges led the team with 29 points and seven assists on nine of 17 shooting, Cam Thomas added 20 points while Cam Johnson chipped in with 18 points on six of 10 shooting. As a team, the Nets shot 52 percent from the field and 10 of 24 from the 3-point line as they held the Pistons to just 21 points in the first quarter to take an early double-digit lead and they kept building on it until they led by 21 points in the third quarter. The Nets will take on the Bucks and Wizards after this game.
Brooklyn Nets Player Facts
- Cameron Thomas is one of only two players to have scored 35+ points off the bench in a game this season.
- Spencer Dinwiddie ranks 14th amongst qualified players for assists per game (6.6) this season.
Detroit Pistons
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons are now looking to end a 26-game losing streak after getting routed by the Nets on Saturday. Prior to that defeat, the Pistons lost to the Jazz. Jaden Ivey led the team with 23 points and seven assists, Cade Cunningham added 22 points with six assists, Isaiah Stewart added 20 points on eight of nine shooting, while Bojan Bogdanovic chipped in with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 49 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line which are good enough numbers to win a game, but they were always playing from behind after suffering another slow start. Ausar Thompson had a quiet game of just seven points on two of seven shooting while Alec Burks scored just five points on two of eight shooting off the bench.
Detroit Pistons Player Facts
- Cade Cunningham ranks 3rd in the Eastern Conference amongst qualified players for assists per game (7.1) this season.
- Bojan Bogdanovic ranks T7th amongst qualified Forwards for three-pointers made Per Game (2.9) this season.
Matchup/League Facts
- The Pistons rank 30th in the league for three-point percentage this season (33.4%).
- The Pistons rank 30th in the league for three-point field goals made per game this season (9.9).
- The Nets rank 30th in the league for steals per game this season (6.1).
- The Nets rank 30th in the league for opponent turnovers per game this season (11.6).
Nets vs Pistons Prediction
You can’t really say that the Nets are back in form after snapping a five-game slide with a win over the lowly Pistons, but to be fair, the Nets made it look pretty easy on Saturday. It’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row in the NBA, but the Pistons have been so bad this season, so I’m happy to back the Nets to cover this reasonable line.
