The Detroit Pistons play host to the Denver Nuggets at Little Caesars Arena on Monday night.
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets have been in a rut as they've lost three of their past four games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Cavaliers in a 121-109 road loss last night. Michael Porter Jr. led the team with 21 points, Nikola Jokic added 18 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists while Christian Braun chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Nuggets shot 47 percent from the field and 14 of 29 from the 3-point line but they couldn't handle the Cavaliers early and leaked 37 points in the second quarter and things only got worse in the third quarter where they scored just 17 points themselves. Reggie Jackson scored just seven points, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope shot just two of nine for his nine points.
Detroit Pistons
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in terrible form as they are now looking to put an end to an 11-game losing streak after getting blown out by the Raptors in a 142-113 road loss last night. Stanley Umude led the team in scoring with 19 points off the bench, Cade Cunningham added 18 points with four assists while James Wiseman chipped in with 15 points on six of eight shooting. As a team, the Pistons shot 47 percent from the field and just nine of 26 from the 3-point line but they were never really in the contest after falling behind by 12 points after the first quarter and trailing by as many as 40 points at one stage.
Peter's Pick
The Nuggets are still shorthanded as Jamal Murray is still out, while the Pistons are still without Jalen Duren, Joe Harris, Monte Morris and Killian Hayes. The Nuggets have cooled off from their hot start to the season and it's no surprise that it's coincided with the injury to Murray, but the Pistons are the coldest team in the league right now, so I'm backing the Nuggets to get back into form with a win and cover on the road.
