The Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to the Washington Wizards at the Capital One Arena on Monday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in great shape as they've won seven of their last nine games overall and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after taking down the Mavericks in a 132-125 win on Saturday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 40 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists on 18 of 26 shooting, Damian Lillard added 27 points with 12 assists while Pat Connaughton chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Bucks shot 52 percent from the field and 17 of 45 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble when they leaked 40 points in the third quarter to fall behind by 12 points, but they responded with a 43-point explosion in the fourth quarter to get the win and improve to 6-1 at home this season.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in terrible shape as they've lost nine of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a five-game slide after getting thrashed by the Knicks in a 120-99 loss on Friday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 19 points and five assists, Deni Avdija added 18 points on seven of 11 shooting while Tyus Jones chipped in with 11 points and five assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line as they started to claw their way back from an 11-point halftime deficit, before they went ice-cold and got outscored by 31-15 in the fourth quarter. Jordan Poole had a rough night as he scored just eight points on two of 11 shooting.
The Bucks have yet to really hit their stride this season, but that hasn't stopped them from winning games on a nightly basis and they will be feeling pretty good after beating the Mavericks in their last outing. The Wizards have been one of the worst teams this season and their confidence took another gut shot after getting blown out by the Knicks on Friday. The line is quite hefty for this one, but I don't think it's unreasonable given how bad the Wizards have been so far. The Bucks are coming into this one with plenty of momentum and I think they keep rolling with another win and cover on the road.
