The San Antonio Spurs pay a visit to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Paycom Center on Tuesday night.
San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have been ice-cold as they are now looking to snap a five-game slide after getting beaten by the Heat in a 118-113 loss on Sunday. Keldon Johnson led the team with 20 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, Zach Collins scored 18 points, Victor Wembanyama tallied 18 points with 11 rebounds and seven assists while Jeremy Sochan chipped in with 16 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Spurs shot 46 percent from the field and 19 of 44 from the 3-point line as they held the Heat to just 15 points in the first quarter to take an early 19-point lead, but they struggled against the defense of the Heat and just couldn't hold them off in the fourth quarter. The Spurs really shot themselves in the foot with 17 turnovers leading to 33 points for the Heat.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in decent shape with three wins in their past four games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after routing the Suns in a 111-99 road win on Sunday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 35 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Jalen Williams added 31 points on 11 of 16 shooting while Chet Holmgren chipped in with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Thunder shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 27 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep up with the Suns in the first half, but they stayed within striking distance and made their move with a 31-13 fourth quarter effort to come away with a solid road win.
Peter's Pick
The Spurs could be severely shorthanded here as Tre Jones, Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan are all questionable, while the Thunder don't have a single player listed on the injury report. The Spurs were more than competitive in their narrow loss to the Heat on Sunday, but with so many players listed as questionable, I'm more comfortable going with the in-form Thunder to take advantage at home.
