The Atlanta Hawks pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night.
Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks have been in fine form with five wins in their last seven games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting beaten by the Heat in a 117-109 loss on Saturday. Trae Young led the way with 27 points and 11 assists, Dejounte Murray added 23 points with five assists while Bogdan Bogdanovic chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Hawks shot 43 percent from the field and 18 of 46 from the 3-point line as they got off to a nightmare start and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing 41 points in the first quarter. The Hawks brought themselves back into the game with their 18 made 3-pointers, but they just shot themselves in the foot too many times, committing a total of 21 turnovers.
Detroit Pistons
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons will be hoping to put an end to an ugly eight-game losing streak after getting beaten by the Bulls in a 119-108 road loss on Sunday. Kevin Knox led the team with 18 points on seven of eight shooting off the bench, Isaiah Stewart added 17 points with 11 rebounds while Alec Burks chipped in with 16 points and four assists off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 43 percent from the field and 11 of 32 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to hang in the contest all the way until late in the fourth quarter where they Bulls used a 12-4 run to slip away in the end.
Peter's Pick
The Hawks could be shorthanded here as Trae Young is listed as questionable, while the Pistons are still missing Bojan Bogdanovic, Monte Morris and Jalen Duren. The Hawks will be so disappointed that they lost to the Heat on Saturday as they were playing some good basketball before that loss, but I think they will bounce back just fine in this one. The Pistons are one of the coldest teams in the league, they're still missing some key players and they've lost four of their five home games. Give me the Hawks to get back the win column regardless of whether Trae Young plays.
