The Detroit Pistons invade the United Center to do battle with the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night.
Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons have been in terrible form as they are now hoping to arrest a seven-game slide after coming up short against the 76ers in a 114-106 loss on Friday. Killian Hayes led the team with 23 points and six assists, Cade Cunningham added 21 points and seven assists while Ausar Thompson chipped in with 12 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 46 percent from the field and eight of 28 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the 76ers early on to build a 16-point lead, but that lead quickly turned into a 17-point deficit once the 76ers brook loose in the second half. Marcus Sasser had a rough game as he scored just nine points on three of 13 shooting off the bench.
Chicago Bulls
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in rough shape as they've lost four of their last five games overall and they will be looking to bounce back after comnig up painfully short to the Suns in a 116-115 overtime loss on Wednesday. Nikola Vucevic led the team with 26 points on 11 of 19 shooting, DeMar DeRozan added 22 points with seven assists, Zach LaVine scored 22 points with eight rebounds and eight assists while Alex Caruso chipped in with 19 points on seven of nine shooting off the bench. As a team, the Bulls shot 43 percent from the field and 14 of 33 from the 3-point line as they played great defense to hold the Suns scoreless in the final 3:12 to force overtime, where they managed just eight points to come up short.
Peter's Pick
The Pistons are still depleted as Jalen Duren, Alec Burks and Jaden Ivey are all questionable, while the Bulls are keeping an eye on Alex Caruso who is questionable with a toe injury. The Pistons have been one of the coldest teams in the league with seven losses in a row and they just blew a 16-point lead in their last outing. The Bulls haven't been setting the world on fire, but they were more than competitive in their tough loss to the Suns and I think they get over the hump in this one. Give me the Bulls to snap out of their funk with a much-needed win and cover at home.
