The New York Knicks and the Atlanta Hawks duke it out at the State Farm Arena on Friday night.
New York Knicks Betting Preview
The New York Knicks will be eager to get back on the court after falling painfully short to the Celtics in a 108-104 home loss on Wednesday. RJ Barrett led the team with 24 points on eight of 20 shooting, Immanuel Quickley added 24 points off the bench, Jalen Brunson scored 15 points while Julius Randle chipped in with 14 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Knicks shot just 37 percent from the field and 18 of 41 from the 3-point line as they got off to a horrid start and managed just 18 points in the first quarter to fall behind by double-digits early, but they showed plenty of grit to hang around and take the lead late, only to allow the Celtics to slip away in the end.
Atlanta Hawks Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks will be hoping to bounce back in this one after coming up short to the Hornets in a 116-110 road loss on Wednesday. Trae Young led the team with 23 points and nine assists, Jalen Johnson led the team with 21 points on nine of 13 shooting off the bench while Saddiq Bey and Clint Capela scored 15 points each. As a team, the Hawks shot just 41 percent from the field and five of 29 from the 3-point line, but not even 37 points in the fourth quarter could get the job done with their backcourt duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray shooting a combined seven of 33 from the field.
Peter's Pick
The Knicks looked impressive in their season opener as most teams would've folded against the Celtics, but they stayed in the fight and almost pulled off the major upset. The Hawks will be so disappointed with their poor shooting on Wednesday, especially Young who shot just four of 19 from the field, but I don't see him repeating that performance, not against the Knicks who he loves to beat. This should be a close one, but I think the Hawks bounce back with a narrow win against their rivals.
