The Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz meet Wednesday in NBA action at the Delta Center. Let’s preview this game and give out a pick and prediction.
Sacramento Kings Betting Preview
The Sacramento Kings are coming off their first playoff trip in nearly 20 years and enter the second season under coach Mike Brown. The Kings are running back nearly the same team from a year ago, outside of adding Chris Duarte and JaVale McGee. The Kings are banking on the growth of De'Aaron Fox and Keegan Murray, as well as the stability of Harrison Barnes and Domantas Sabnois. Malik Monk has a chance to be 6-man of the year if he can repeat his success from last year, and Kevin Huerter remains one of the more underrated shooting guards in the league. The Kings have a playoff roster, and now there’s confidence after last year's success. For the first time in a long time, the Kings are a team to watch out west.
Utah Jazz Betting Preview
The Jazz are coming off a 37-win season and enter the second year under coach Will Hardy. The Jazz haven’t missed the playoffs in back to back years since 2015-16. There's a lot to like about the Jazz youngish core of Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen, but the addition of John Collins certainly speeds up the rebuild. The Jazz also brought in Baylor star and first round pick Keyonte George, and he should see the floor as a backup point guard. The Jazz are way ahead of a normal team that recently traded away their two stars, and I wouldn’t be shocked if this group snuck into the playoffs this season.
This should be a fun game between two up-and-coming teams in the West, and we know they'll be looking at this as a bragging rights contest and measuring stick matchup. While I like the direction the Jazz are heading, the Kings have the better roster right now, and they had no problem winning on the road last season. We're laying less than a full bucket. The Kings won 3 of the 4 games against the Jazz last season. I have to side with the Kings in this contest.
