Germany Betting Preview
Germany has had a perfect tournament so far in terms of wins or losses, but they were really tested in the last game. Two games ago against Slovenia, Germany scored 100 points on the way to the 29 point victory. In the last game against Latvia, it was a back and forth battle, but they were able to secure the 81-79 victory. Germany shot 40 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from behind the three point line. Germany used a balanced attack and they had six different players that finished with at least nine points. Franz Wagner had a strong game finishing with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. In this game Germany is going to need the defense to step up in a big way.
USA Betting Preview
The United States had that shocking loss against Lithuania two games ago but other than that game they haven’t really had any hiccups. In the last game against Italy, the offense scored 100 points, but even more impressive was the defense that gave up only 63 points. The United States shot 53.7 percent from the field and 47.2 percent from behind the three point line. Anthony Edwards has been the most impressive player of the tournament for the United States, but in the last game, they scored only three points. It’s quite impressive the USA put up 100 points and the offense only scored three points. Mikal Bridges was the top player putting up 24 points and seven rebounds.
Shane’s Free Pick
Germany is going to find a way to keep this game close. Germany’s offense is balanced, and they are going to find success scoring here. I also expect Germany’s defense is going to step up. Germany might hold the United States to 60 points, but they are going to step up here enough to keep this game close. Neither team is going to get over 80 points here, and Germany will keep it within six points. Back Germany against the spread.
